Glaubensketten (1916)

Somewhere in a Jewish ghetto in the Europe of a bygone era. Old Leiser Menscher has died, and now his son, Todres, is to take his place—tasked, with the rabbi’s permission, with handling the ghetto’s shopping in the city. The illiterate young man is quickly captivated by the temptations that await him.
